LEWISTON – Oscar W. Provencher, 72, of Lisbon died Friday evening, Nov. 18, at Central Maine Medical Center with his wife and son by his side.
He was born in Auburn, April 2, 1933, the son of Oscar and Florida Provencher Sr. He was a lifelong resident of Maine.
Oscar had worked in local shoe shops and as a machinest until ill health forced his retirement.
On Nov. 22, 1980, he married Wendy Joy Haas of Mechanic Falls. His faith and belief in God sustained him throughout his life, especially in his final months.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Corey Jon of Lisbon; daughters, Cathy Tardiff of Lewiston, Debby Jacques and Patsy Provencher of Bowdoinham; a brother, Reginald of Auburn; and a grandson, Zachary of Bowdoinham; many nieces and nephews; and his special great-niece, Brittnie Nelson of Otisfield.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew him and his familar laugh, including his parrot Mike, cat Zanna, and dogs Dusty and Skippy.
