AUGUSTA – Robert H. Earle, 79, of Huntington Hill Road, Litchfield, died Saturday evening, Nov. 19, at MaineGeneral Hospital.

He was born in Lisbon Falls on Sept. 13, 1926, the son of Carleton G. and Lucy L. Greeley Earle. He attended Lisbon schools and later served during World War II as a Seabee for the U.S. Navy.

He married Lyndell Danforth on Nov. 22, 1950 in Augusta.

He worked for Farnsworth Mill as a truck driver, and in the Lisbon School system as a bus driver and custodian. He retired from the Brunswick Naval Air Station in 1986 where he was a pipe fitter.

In his early years, Robert was a volunteer firefighter for the Lisbon Center Fire Department.

He was a member and former director of the Litchfield Farmers Club.

He enjoyed walking in the woods, attending agricultural fairs and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Lyndell Earle of Litchfield; a son, Christopher Earle and his wife, Sally, of Lisbon; daughters, Holly Van Cura and her husband, Jeffrey, of Gorham, Joni Sloan and her husband, John, of Topsham, Patricia Earle of Lisbon Falls, and Judy Goldsberry and her husband, James, also of Lisbon Falls; grandchildren Christina and Jonathan Earle, Joshua and Erin Van Cura, Karen and Ryan Sloan, Casey and Brendan McGivney, Samuel and Leah Goldsberry.

He was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Irene Barr; and brothers, Millard, Frank, Carleton, George and Charles.
