FARMINGTON – Ursula came to the Franklin County Animal Shelter as a stray and, although she was wearing a collar, no one has come looking for her.
The black lab appears to have been very well cared for. She is large for a female, weighing roughly 70 to 80 pounds with solid muscle.
Staff said she is quite the character. She loves to play with toys of all shapes and sizes, likes going for walks and being silly in general. She has nice people manners and seems to do well with children.
Staff would like to see Ursula go to an experienced dog owner, as she is strong physically and mentally. She does not appear to care for other dogs and she cannot go to a home with cats.
Other than that, staff said, she is a great girl who is anxious to get into a home where she can be spoiled.
The holidays are approaching and the animals would love any “presents” residents would like to donate, such as toys, treats, food, litter, blankets and towels.
New dogs at the shelter include a neutered male mix (mostly tan),brought in from Farmington; a dark red and brown male mix brought in from Farmington wearing a collar; a female beagle puppy brought in from Avon wearing a collar; a female beagle adult brought in from Avon wearing a collar; and a male pit bull brought in from Dryden.
