LEWISTON – John L. Girardin, 74, formerly of Danville, died early Monday evening, Nov. 21, at d’Youville Pavilion with his family by his side.
He was born in Lewiston on April 29, 1931, a son of Leo and Marguerite Girardin. He was educated in local schools and remained a lifelong resident of this community.
He was married to the former Joyce Olson, who predeceased him in April 2003.
He was a hard worker his whole life and exemplified a tremendous work ethic as he was employed for many years as a truck driver and last drove for VIP auto centers until his retirement in 1996.
He attended Court Street Baptist Church. Among his favorite enjoyments were fishing and a genuine love of the outdoors. He also loved animals, especially dogs.
He leaves three daughters, Diane Turcotte and husband, Marc, of Poland, Debbie Conant and husband, Michael, of New Gloucester, and Donna Sullivan and husband, Don, of Poland; a son, John W.L. Girardin and wife, Joella, of Poland; 12 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; a sister, Faye Bernier; and two brothers, Junior Girardin and Gary Girardin.
