Once again, society is being poisoned by Harry Potter mania on the big screen.

I have been protesting this phenomena since J.K. Rowlings released her first book many years ago. I have received a lot of national attention and overwhelming local opposition for my bold stand. I have had no problem with the controversy it has created or the opposition that has been mounted. In an odd way, it has been very stimulating.

However, many of the letters that have appeared on the opinion page in support of J.K. Rowlings’ masterpiece of evil identify themselves as Christians. They defend it by calling it make-believe, fantasy or just plain fun for kids. Nonetheless, the Bible says to abstain from all appearances of evil. In light of this biblical truth, one should know that “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” is the darkest of all the films to date. Christians are commanded by the Lord to forsake the darkness and live in the light. One thing is for sure, over the years Christians have changed but witchcraft remains the same.
