Dear Sun Spots: My daughter-in-law is looking for suggestions on how to clean grease off a new pair of light pink suede boots? I’ve taken them to three different dry cleaners and was told they didn’t do that kind of work. Any help from you or your readers would be greatly appreciated. I can be reached at (207)782-8873. – A.L., Auburn.

Answer: In addition to suggestions from readers, you might try a suede cleaning trick found on the Web. To clean the grease spot, dip a toothbrush in white vinegar and gently brush back and forth across the suede, dabbing occasionally with a soft cloth to absorb any excess liquid. After a few attempts, you should start to see improvement. Once it appears that the spot is removed, give it a final light dab, rub with the cloth, and let it air dry.
