Have you heard the rumor, as I have, that communism is dead? Do you know just what communism is?
Communism is an evil, atheistic system that, in countries like Russia, China and Vietnam, dominated for many years in such a hold that the governments had complete control over the bodies and minds of their citizens.
Schools and churches were government-controlled. God was made “politically incorrect.” Religion was so completely controlled that baptisms, or reading anything aloud (even in church) that might even vaguely be construed to be “anti-communistic” became a crime. Pastors who committed such “crimes” were often tortured and jailed for years – or even murdered.
The communist governments owned everything. Families had to share small apartments, sometimes with several other families.
The governments decided what a worker’s wages would be, usually just at subsistence level.
You ask, “What’s that to do with us?”
Have you noticed that we are gradually losing our liberty to speak out for the things we believe? The Lord’s Prayer has not been taught in our public schools for many years. And liberals are working to remove God from every public arena.
Communism is not dead. Its head may have been severed, but its roots have dug down into our American soil – in colleges, universities, in our courts, in our liberal leaders and in much of our media.
If we’re not going to do anything about it, we should, at least, be praying about it.
