LEWISTON – The YWCA of Central Maine will begin its indoor soccer program from 7 to 9 p.m. Mondays beginning Nov. 28. The program is co-ed and open to anyone 14 and older, adults included. The program is free to members of the YWCA and $6 for non-members.

The program will be run by Butch Dow, who has many years of coaching experience with local high schools.

“We designed this program as pick-up games to provide an opportunity for anyone who wants to keep their skills over the winter months when it is difficult to find places to play soccer,” said Dow.

The program will take place in the Wade Center at the YWCA of Central Maine located at 130 East Ave. Preregistration is not necessary. Attendees need some soccer skill in order to participate. Teams will be formed each evening with those who attend.

“Butch does a great job working with soccer players at a variety of skill levels,” said Anne Craigs, executive director of the YWCA. “We are very fortunate to have someone like Butch who loves working with the kids as well as the adults. He makes the program fun for everyone and teaches the group a great deal about soccer in the process.”
