WAKEFIELD, R.I., – Marie R. Comtois, 93, of Wakefield, R.I., and formerly of Stockbridge Road, Lee, Mass., died Wednesday, Nov. 23, at Scallop Shell Nursing Home.

Born in Saint Hermenegille, Quebec, on Nov. 30, 1911, she was the daughter of Alfred and Marie Lavigne Brodeur. Raised as one of 11 children, she lived and worked on a farm there until moving to Maine at age 15, where she lived with her sister. She worked at a dry cleaners.

On Sept. 2, 1940, she married Joseph G. Comtois and moved to Brunswick. In 1950, they moved to Hartford, Conn., and to Lee, Mass., in 1985. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Lee, Mass.

She is survived by one son, Gerard L. Comtois of Middletown, Conn.; three daughters, Jeannette S. Lozier of Newington, Conn., Muriel A. Cassarino of Clermont, Fla., and Lilliane C. Schmid of Wakefield, R.I., and New Marlborough, Mass.; one brother, Antonio Brodeur of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph, who died Jan. 7, 1995.
