I really feel sorry for the citizens of Auburn. Not only are they paying for the new city hall and library, but they are also paying for the TIFs that the big businesses have received, Wal-Mart in particular. And what has Wal-Mart done for them? Put small businesses out of business.

If you don’t believe that, ask a small business owner, like myself, how business is doing. Let’s face it, every dollar that is spent at Wal-Mart means one less dollar available for the little guy.

By the way, small businesses have always been the backbone of this country.

I am appalled at how the city can revaluate properties, and the only ones who benefit from this revaluation are the Goliaths.

David, it is time to make an appearance.

By the way, I lived in Auburn for 50 years.
