FARMINGTON – Nancy Chase was surprised to learn that as Farmington Emblem Club 460’s 2004/05 community service chairwoman she had helped earn the Delia Z Award for the club.

The traveling plaque was awarded to the Farmington club at the national convention held in Boston in September.

Chase had prepared 40 pages of information of things done for the community by the club, including the total of 24,260 miles and 3,984 hours put into events by Chase and other club members for such things as Barbara Yeaton’s celebration of 75 years in the Grange, a blood drive, youth cheering tryouts and banquet, the Wilton Blueberry Festival doll carriage parade, a shower for a family with triplets, the annual nursing home Thanksgiving dinner and many more things done throughout the year.
