Sounds like the good citizens of Auburn are about to teach their politicians a lesson they will not soon forget.

The lesson? When concerned citizens tell politicians, “Take your hands off our wallets and begin to be fiscally responsible,” they mean it.

The citizens of Auburn are doing the right thing – making their politicians accountable. It’s a lesson all Maine politicians, from Gov. Baldacci to local legislators, better learn fast, or else they’re going to be looking for a new job.

We are fed up with their spendthrift ways, disguised as “We know what’s best for you, so shut up and pay up.”

Those days are gone.
