Choir to perform

LEWISTON – The Senior College “Food for Thought” luncheon program series at USM/Lewiston-Auburn will present the Edward Little High School Show Choir on Friday, Dec. 9.

The choir, comprised of students from grades nine through 12, has appeared many times locally and has performed in competition as well as for a capella festivals. Led by faculty adviser Beth LaBrie, the singers will perform a variety of musical styles.

The program will be held in the function room at USM/Lewiston-Auburn beginning at noon. The cost, which includes lunch, is $6, with advance reservation or $8 at the door, which opens at 11:30 a.m. Reservation should be made by noon on Thursday, Dec. 8, by calling 753-6510 or at www.usm.maine.edu/lac.

Mexico slide show

MECHANIC FALLS – A Christmas in Mexico luncheon and slide show will be held at noon Wednesday, Dec. 14, at the First Congregational Church of Mechanic Falls. A slide presentation by Barbara Randall will follow the luncheon. For reservations call Ruth Malcolm at 345-4811 or Mary Jones at 345-3771 by Dec. 10.

Bridge play

NEW GLOUCESTER – The New Gloucester Bridge Club met Nov. 27 at the Masonic Hall where a four-table Howell movement was played.

Finishing first in Flight A were Darcy Page and Luke Merry; second, Carlene and Bill Hewett; third, Linda Leotsakos and Audrey Burns.

Finishing first in Flight B were Audrey Burns and Linda Leotsakos; second, Marta Clements and Nancy Farmer; third, Sherri Chagnon and Bunny Banks.
