NORWAY – Ethel Herrick Lacourse was recently presented her 60-year membership certificate and seal by Norway Grange 45 Worthy Master Melinda Herrick.

Lacourse joined the grange in October 1945 with her brother, Lyman S. Herrick Jr., and her parents, Ada and Lyman S. Herrick Sr.

She has been active in the grange and was in the youth and women’s degree teams in the 1940s and 1950s. She was also in tableaux for the degree work and has played the piano over the years when needed.

Lacourse took all seven degrees before 1949. She has held an office for 52 of the 60 years. She has been secretary for 34 years (continuous for the past 24). She was the third woman to hold the office of master since Norway Grange was organized in 1874. She also has held the office of lady assistant steward, Flora, Ceres and treasurer.
