AUBURN – Police investigating a weekend robbery at a Center Street bank have released a second surveillance photo of the suspect.
The latest photo shows the man as he approached a teller at TD Banknorth and demanded money. The face is partially obscured by dark glasses and a winter hat pulled down over his brow.
Since Sunday, police said they have been receiving tips about the heist, but no arrest had been made by Wednesday night. Detective Mitchell Sweetser said he is hoping the newly released surveillance photo will provide further clues from someone who knows the suspect.
The robbery was the second in the Twin Cities in just a week. A week before, a bank on Lisbon Street was held up in a similar fashion. In both cases, a lone man entered the bank and demanded money without displaying a weapon.
No arrest has been made in the Lewiston robbery. Investigators in both cities are attempting to determine whether the two heists are related.
