FARMINGTON – There are three little bunnies calling The Franklin County Animal Shelter home: two males and one female. All would make good companions.

Spirit, the female, is about 4 years old. She is mostly black with a little white on her toes, chest and on the bridge of her nose.

She can be a little shy at first, but is quick to warm up to people. Spirit came from a rabbit rescue that was closing down and would have been euthanized.

Courage and Freedom, the two male rabbits, were found as strays. Both are roughly 3 to 4 years old. Courage is all brown except for his nose, which is white, and Freedom is mostly white with black spots.

All three bunnies love carrots, hay, snuggling, taking naps and exploring their surroundings. All are litter-box trained and are good about using them.

A winter carnival will be held Sunday, Dec. 11, at the shelter. Santa will be on hand to pose for pictures with children or pets. There will be a bake sale, Christmas wreaths and other festive merchandise to purchase.

Two tan-and-white puppies, found together, one male and one female, were brought in from Livermore.
