JAY – The Andy Valley Riders Snowmobile Club held its first meeting Oct. 25 when election of officers took place. Duane Gross was elected president with Greg Nemi serving as vice president. Jonne Gross was elected secretary and Brenda Romano will remain as treasurer. Barry Romano is this year’s trailmaster, Rick Duguay is safety coordinator and Gil Barnaby is the Maine Snowmobile Association representative.

The meetings continue to be held the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at the VFW.

The heavy fall winds and rain have caused extensive damage to the trails and several of the bridges. Work needs to be done in order to get the trails ready for the winter riding. Work parties are held every Sunday morning. Members meet at the town garage at 8 a.m.

Gross said that while several members show up each Sunday, more members are needed to get the work done. Anyone who can spare a few hours any Sunday is asked to meet at the grange or call Gross at 897-5771 or Romano 897-2067.

It was voted to hold the annual Christmas party on Dec. 9 at the home of Duane and Jonne Gross. Members are asked to contact Jonne at 897-6613 before Dec. 4 for a head count.

The Andy Valley Riders are hoping to increase membership this year. If interested in joining, for information or suggestions call Gross or Romano.
