LEWISTON – Richard D. White, 55, of 339 Auburn Pownal Road, Durham, passed away Dec. 1, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Lewiston on May 29, 1950. He was a self-employed woodsmen for most of his life until joining his son in their dream partnership, Stanley Excavation. Richard devoted most of his life to his family, and his most enjoyable times were spent with his grandchildren.

He enjoyed working in the woods, carpentry, and playing darts, for which he was a member of a team, “The Turkey Shooters.” He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing with “his boys.” He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Dorothy E. White; two sons, Skip and Sheldon and his wife, Katie, all of Buckfield; two daughters, Lori and her husband, Scott, and Billie-Gee, all of Durham; two brothers, William White and Floyd Small; five sisters, Joyce Molinari, Doris Parent, Holly Johnson, Hattie Sauceda and Nancy Witheral; nine grandsons, Brandon, Nick, Aaron, Chris, Scott, Curtis, Dustin, Connor and Hunter; and three granddaughters, Brianna, Kelsie-Mae and Katelyn.

He was predeceased by his parents, Ingram and Ethel White; a stepmother, Lillian White; two brothers, John and Ingram White Jr.; and a sister, Linda Paszkowski.
