Reduced visits
RUMFORD – Due to budget constraints, the veterans’ advocate for the Bureau of Maine Veteran’s Service will reduce visits to the Rumford area to once a month. Effective this month, the advocate will be at the Career Center/River Valley Technology Center, 60 Lowell St., on the fourth Thursday of each month from 9 a.m. to noon.
The advocate will be available to assist veterans, dependents and/or survivors with benefit questions and assistance. Individuals may also call the Lewiston office at 783-5306 for assistance.
Class lunch
RUMFORD – The Stephens High School Class of 1955 will hold its monthly luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, at Sam’s Italian Shoppe. For more information, contact Geneva at 364-4216.
Holiday concert
DIXFIELD – Crosswinds will present a free Christmas concert at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, at Dirigo High School featuring Cynthia Libby and Friends.
Light refreshments will be served and a love offering will be taken.
Christmas party
DIXFIELD – The Poodunck Snowmobile Club will hold a Christmas party at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, at the Webb River Valley Sportsmen’s Clubhouse, Canton Point Road. Food and entertainment will be provided. It is open to all former and new members of the Poodunck Club and their families.
Michaud visit
BETHEL – In an effort to assist constituents throughout the 2nd District, the largest east of the Mississippi, Congressman Michael Michaud has announced community office hours for the Bethel region.
Andrea Quaid, Michaud’s representative, will be available from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, at the Bethel Town Office.
