PERU – Selectmen interviewed John Plumley for code enforcement officer and Daniel Carrier for animal control officer on Monday night.

Plumley, who is the code enforcement officer for the town of Hartford, said he has time for Peru as well. He has worked for Hartford for two and a half years and is certified as a code enforcement officer. He has a temporary plumbing license. When asked how much time he could spend on Peru, Plumley said, “I’m retired. I like working with people and I enjoy working.” He says he is particularly gratified when he can write a permit for a young couple building their first house.

Carrier would like to become the ACO, but is not yet certified. Selectman Kathy Hussey said he had just missed a class for ACOs but encouraged him to call the state for information. The board will ask the two applicants to return next week for a second meeting.

In other business, two building permits were not signed, due to lack of proper sketches of the proposed project and required information.

The fundraiser to keep Rockemeka Grange open the rest of the year raised around $300 and other donations raised the fund to $596.
