ENFIELD, N.H. (AP) – Whaleback Mountain ski area, closed since 2001, is reopening next week under new owners.

Whaleback is set to open on Dec. 15. Co-owner Frank Sparrow said the area can’t compete with bigger mountains in the state, but the owners also plan to offer alternatives to skiing with three terrain parks, indoor skate park and course for mountain bikes.
