FARMINGTON – “A Gift for Melissa,” a Christmas cantata/drama, will be presented at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday, Dec. 10, 11 and 12, by the New Hope Baptist Church, 268 Perham St.

“A Gift for Melissa” is the story of a small family facing financial obstacles and inner turmoil during the Christmas season. Through a series of emotional circumstances, their daughter Melissa’s one wish for Christmas is fulfilled.

Original Christmas music adds to the play, which is under the direction of Kirk Doyle and Sandi Rebert. Cast includes Max Yates, Kim Yates, Keirra Yates, Harold Field, Steve Kinney, JoAnne Doyle, Isaac Wildrick, Heidi Wildrick and Sandi Rebert.

The choir, under the direction of Kirk Doyle, will sing five original Christmas songs. Members include sopranos, JoAnne Doyle, Charlotte Randall, Elizabeth Rebert, Rebekah Rebert, Heidi Wildrick; altos, Amanda Case, Linda Charles, Denica Decker, Valerie Johnson, Julianna Navarro, Sandi Rebert and Kim Yates; tenors, Brian Rebert and Jonathan Rebert; bass, Tom Charles, Harold Field and Chris Phillips.

There also will be a special children’s choir, under the direction of JoAnne Doyle, including Caleb Bridges, Cherish Bridges, Joshua Bridges, Destiny Decker, Haven Doyle, Lydia Doyle, Brittany Eades, Amos Herrin, Nathan Herrin, Erin Johnson, Jessie Johnson, Seth Johnson, Xzavier Lovely, Cristina Navarro, Isabela Navarro, Matthew Scott, Rebekah Scott, Colby Thayer, Alea Wildrick, Jana Winslow, Jarod Winslow, Kamrin Yates, Keirra Yates, Madison Yates and Marissa Yates.
