PHILLIPS – A winter golf experience is being offered to junior golfers as a continuation of Justafield Golf Teaching Center in Phillips.
Children who are interested in participating may call Winona Davenport at 639-4296 and leave a message during the winter for an appointment. More information may be obtained in writing by leaving name and address and a form will be mailed.
During the 2005 season, Davenport has put together 26 sets of clubs for beginners, adults as well as children. The clubs that are donated to her are regripped through a fund set up in memory of her late husband, Gordon Davenport, who was an avid golfer. Added to the 13 sets from 2004, she has a lot of clubs on loan.
Donations to the fund are welcome and she is selling chances on a Christmas gift, which can be seen at a Christmas sale at the Middle School starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 10. The public is welcome.
