FARMINGTON – Marguerite “Peggy” Willihan of Carrabassett Valley has been appointed as a consultant at Franklin Community Health Network to serve as a liaison to expand and improve the HealthCard business program and to inform local businesses of the Franklin DirigoChoice Incentive Program.
In her new position, Willihan will be conducting site visits with businesses in the greater Franklin County area beginning in January. More than 260 local businesses now offer HealthCard discounts, and Willihan hopes to double that number.
Additionally, Willihan will inform businesses of the Franklin DirigoChoice Incentive Program, established earlier this year, to increase access to health care in greater Franklin County. The program is designed to help uninsured small businesses and the self-employed purchase DirigoChoice health insurance for their employees.
Peggy brings more than 13 years of experience in development and communications to FCHN, holds an associate’s degree in business administration and is nearing completion of a bachelor’s degree in management and communications.
Willihan co-chaired the Comprehensive Plan Committee of the town of Carrabassett Valley and served as a member of Thomas College’s Strategic Marketing and Communication Committee. Most recently, she was the director of development at Thomas College in Waterville. Previously, she served as the associate director of development at Carrabassett Valley Academy; director of development at the Hurricane Island Outward Bound School in Rockland for five years; and as a fund-raising consultant since 1990.
