RUMFORD – Two Carthage teens were among the four injured in Sunday night’s head-on collision on South Rumford Road.
Ashley Coulombe, 16, was driving a 1996 Chevy Blazer south on the road and attempting to exit on a curve onto Wyman Hill Road, when she collided with a 1997 Ford Taurus, driven north by Olge Sweatt, 61, of Rumford, police said Monday.
Coulombe’s passenger was her 14-year-old brother, Justin; Sweatt’s passenger was her brother Frank Sweatt, 55, no town given.
A nursing supervisor at Rumford Hospital said early Monday evening that the Coulombes and Olge Sweatt were treated and released. Frank Sweatt, who had to be extricated, was stabilized and taken by ambulance later that night to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.
A CMMC nursing supervisor said late Monday afternoon they had no record of him being.
A Shih Tzu dog wearing a canine sweater in the Taurus was also injured, but police did not know to what extent by Monday.
Bean said damages to the totaled Blazer were estimated at $6,000, and $2,000 to the totaled Taurus.
