LEWISTON – James O. “Jim” Beach of Auburn, formerly of Ithaca, N.Y., passed away on Dec. 9, at Central Maine Medical Center after a long illness.
He was born in Ithaca, N.Y., on Sept. 28, 1942. He retired from Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. after a distinguished career of more than 40 years.
During his retirement, he was an active member of the Ithaca Radio Control Society and the Skystreakers of Maine.
He was the son of the late Franklin R. Beach Sr. and Ruth Beach Bacon, and a devoted husband, father, uncle and friend. While his family rejoices that he has reached his eternal home, they are saddened by his absence.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene Weiss Beach, of Auburn; his son, Sean David Turner of New York, N.Y.; two daughters, Penelope Sue Beach of Manorville, N.Y., and Angela Beach Pemberton and son-in-law, Brent Donald Pemberton, of Albany, N.Y.; two sisters, Shirley Beach Chapman of Ithaca, N.Y., and Jeanette Beach Knight and brother-in-law, Richard Knight, of Ithaca, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, Franklin R. Beach Jr.; and brother-in-law, John Chapman.
