POLAND – Janet E. Smith, 67, of 197 Hackett Mills Road, died Friday, Dec. 9, following a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on Aug. 4, 1938, the daughter of Norman and Eleanor Rose Harlow. On Nov. 27, 1957, she married Kenneth B. Smith and together they raised a family, with Janet being a wonderful homemaker and cook.

She enjoyed her family, cooking, crafts and many other activities.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth, of Poland; daughters, Terry Skillings and Tammy Plummer, both of Oxford, and Karen Epp of Portland; grandchildren, Janis Plummer of North Carolina, Hillary Marland of Lewiston, Brittany Marland of Rhode Island and Kyle Epp of Lincoln; brothers, David Harlow of Auburn, Clayton Harlow of Wales and Robert Harlow of Turner; sisters, Carolyn Maxwell of Livermore, Elaine Ricker of New York, Sandra Pierce of New Hampshire and Cindy House of Oxford; and several nieces and nephews.
