WOLFEBORO, N.H. (AP) – A man died after his snowmobile crashed into a gate post on a back woods trail.

Authorities said Dale Austin of Wolfeboro died after being taken to a hospital Saturday afternoon. The accident happened about 3:15 p.m. on Filberbed Road off Route 109. The trail’s gate was open, but the machine struck the gate post.

Authorities said high speed and alcohol may have been factors in the crash.
