LEWISTON – Post 22, American Legion, has named Joseph Paradis, trustee, as chairman of the Legion Christmas party on Thursday, Dec. 15, at the former Legion home, 190 Bates St.

Paradis said the event will remember the Dec. 7 bombing of Pearl Harbor by the Japanese. Fifteen Medals of Honor for acts of heroism were given, the highest award a nation can bestow.

A post member, Major Edward Royal, U.S. Army (retired), was at Pearl Harbor and will attend the event.

Serving on the Christmas Party Committee are First Vice Commander Doris Hamel, Historian Bertrand Mathieu and Adjutant Jerry DerBoghosian.

A social hour will be held from 5 to 5:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6. There will be a ham raffle and music.

Paradis asks all who plan to attend to call 786-0488 or 782-5700.
