A political wish list for Santa to bring:

1. No more political correctness. We have a national tradition of a religious holiday honoring the birth of Jesus Christ. Merry Christmas. All others are also free to enjoy their traditions.

2. Common sense and fiscal responsibility for the Maine Democrats.

3. Congressional Democrats who put away partisanship and act like Americans when our country is at war.

4. Congressional Republicans who have the courage to address the problem of illegal immigrants and border control.

5. A federal balanced budget and congressional control of its spending.

6. Environmental controls based on sound science.

7. Maine legislative enactment of the remedies for the high cost of health insurance.

8. Maine inheritance and income taxes that are in line with the federal ones.

9. A constitutional cap on spending, TABOR, the taxpayers’ bill of rights.

10. Businesses that will bring jobs to Maine in spite of our anti-business government.

11. An efficient computer system for the Department of Health and Human Services.

12. Reduction of the government’s size so we can lower taxes.

13. Less personal dependence on government to solve our problems.
