AUBURN – Dolores C. Roy, 83, of 20 Great Falls Plaza, died Monday, Dec. 12, at her home with her family by her side, after a long battle with cancer.
She was born in Lewiston on June 15, 1922, the daughter of Wilfred and Marie Jeanne Brochu Cloutier. She was educated in local schools and was married Aug. 30, 1941, to Roy C. Roy.
She was employed at the former Clark Shoe Co. and the U.S. Pepperell many years ago. She was a member of the Auburn Catholic community at Sacred Heart Church, Knights of Columbus Council 106 Ladies Auxiliary, Wallace Assembly Fourth Degree Wives, where she was an active member, the Cursillo Movement at St. Paul’s Center in Augusta and l’Association Canados-Americaine.
She and her husband visited nursing home patients for more than 20 years, bringing them some companionship and cheer, especially during the Christmas season. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and reading.
She is survived by her husband of Auburn; a daughter, Joan Cline of Man, W.Va.; two sons, Gerard Roy and his wife, Connie, of Winthrop, and Marc Roy and his wife, Terry, of Lewiston; a special daughter-in-law, Louise Roy of Lewiston; two granddaughters; six grandsons; a great-granddaughter; four great-grandsons; a sister, Jeannine Cloutier of Lewiston; and two brothers, Gerald Cloutier and his wife, Yolande, and Claude Cloutier and his wife, Monique, all of Lewiston.
She was predeceased by three brothers, Roger, Laurier and Bertrand Cloutier.
