LOVELL – The Lovell Historical Society will hold a holiday open house at the historic 1839 Kimball-Stanford House from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18.

The highlight will be the grand opening of the research center. After many years of planning and community support, the society’s research center and museum exhibit are now located in the historic homestead.

As part of the festivities, the museum exhibit will be open, featuring the society’s permanent display. An assortment of holiday goodies in the “bakeshop” will be offered along with a hospitality table with free cookies, punch and tea or coffee. Children, as well as the young at heart, are welcome as Santa Claus has promised to attend and will be available to hear holiday wishes.

Also available will be the opportunity to win one of three raffle prizes: a $100 gift certificate to the Center Lovell Inn, 14K gold snowflake earrings by Harvest Gold, or a $100 gift certificate to Lovell Hardware.

Tickets for the raffle are $5 for a book of six or $1 each. The raffle drawing will be held at 3 p.m. and tickets may be purchased at the Kimball-Stanford House on Tuesdays or at the event.

The house will be decorated inside and out. The house is at the corner of Route 5 and 5A. For more information, call 925-2291.
