BOSTON (AP) – The complaint will be dropped against a Connecticut woman who fell from the rafters at Fenway Park during a Rolling Stones concert if she stays out of trouble for six months.
At a hearing Thursday in Boston Municipal Court, a clerk magistrate declined to issue the misdmeanor charge that had been sought by police against Claire O’Leary, 20, of Westport, Conn.
O’Leary broke both ankles and her wrist after climbing into the right-field rafters on Aug. 21, then falling 35 feet to the seats below. O’Leary could not walk until late November, Clerk Magistrate Mark Concannon said.
Police had sought to charge her with disturbing a public assembly, and Thursday’s hearing was held to determine if such a charge was warranted.
Concannon said police agreed to suspend the complaint after considering O’Leary’s clean record and the severity of her injuries.
“Based on her medical record, she may never be able to run again,” Concannon said. “She still walks very slowly and with a noticeable limp.”
