MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) – Manchester is adding police patrols to fight violent crime and drug dealers.

Police spokesman Sgt. Mark Fowke said the patrols will involve local, state and federal agencies assigned to areas around schools and downtown clubs.

The patrols will be out frequently for the next several months, but police are not releasing details on the operation. The patrols are similar to anti-gang patrols, in which additional cruisers with city police and state troopers patrol the city during the summer.
