POLAND SPRING – The wedding of Stacey Jean O’Brien and Eric Whittington was held at 11 a.m. on Aug. 13 at All Souls Chapel in Poland Spring. Chris Pugh, notary public, officiated at the ceremony.

Mrs. Whittington is the daughter of Janice O’Brien of Lewiston and Tim O’Brien of Gray. Mr. Whittington is the son of Susan Motes of Atlanta, Ga., and Bill Whittington of Dallas, Texas.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white gown with beadwork on the bodice and an overskirt which opened in an “A” to reveal further beadwork. She carried a cascade of white and dark pink roses with stephanotis and lamonium.

A cousin of the bride, Alexis Handy, was maid of honor, and bridesmaids were Rebecca O’Brien, sister of the bride, and Tabetha Motes and Lacy Motes, sisters-in-law of the bridegroom.

Galen Gatten was best man for his friend, and ushers were Robert, Josh and David Motes, brothers of the bridegroom, and Carter and Jordan Handy, cousins of the bride.

A reception followed at the Poland Spring Inn. The couple is residing in Lewiston.

The bride is a 1994 graduate of Edward Little High School and a 1998 graduate of the University of Maine at Orono with a degree in psychology. She is employed as activities coordinator at the Auburn Group Home.

The bridegroom is a 1993 graduate of North Mesquite High School in Mesquite, Texas, and attended Texas Tech University. He is employed at Home Depot.
