PORTLAND, Maine – Corey Perry extended his point-scoring streak to 12 games and Gregg Naumenko made 34 saves as the Portland Pirates beat the Albany River Rats 4-1 on Sunday.

The Pirates (20-7-2-0) have won four straight, while the River Rats (8-20-0-2) have lost six in a row.

After Portland grabbed a 1-0 lead on Ivan Pohanka’s goal at 14:50 of the first period, Tim Brent made it 2-0 at 12:28 of the second.

Ilkka Pikkarainen narrowed Albany’s deficit to 2-1 only 27 seconds into the third period, but the Pirates iced the game when Perry tallied his 10th goal of the season at 4:33 and Pierre Parenteau connected for the second straight night at 17:45.

Naumenko stopped 34 shots.
