LISBON – Kaylie Demillo scored 42 points as Jay coasted past Lisbon 72-43 Wednesday night.
Demillo nailed 8 3-pointers to boast her totals for the Tigers (3-2). Teammate Liz Leblanc added 16 points for Jay.
Lisbon (0-4) was lead by Christy McAuliffe with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Dirigo 73, Boothbay 18
DIXFIELD – Michelle Holmquist and Holly Knight netted 16 points each Wednesday to lead Dirigo to a 73-18 romp over Boothbay in MVC girl’s basketball action.
Dirigo held a commanding 41-10 advantage at the half .
Katie Hutchinson chipped in for the Cougars (4-1) with 11 points in a well-balanced attack.
Lauren Andrews and Joyce Chagan led the Seahawks with four points each.
Hall-Dale 58, Livermore Falls 56
LIVERMORE FALLS – Caitlin Laflin drained 21 points Wednesday night in a battle of the undefeated, leading Hall-Dale to a narrow 58-56 victory over Livermore Falls in more MVC girl’s hoops action. The Bulldogs (5-0) trailed by 11 at the break, then went on a 20-10 run in the third quarter to pull back into contention. Laflin tallied eight of her total in a 21-point fourth quarter to seal the win.
Carrabec 50, Wiscasset 42
NORTH ANSON – Junior Tiffany Gurney scored a game-high 16 points to lead Carrabec to a 50-42 win over Wiscasset in MVC girls’ basketball action Wednesday.
Senior forward Christina Earle had a double-double for the Cobras (1-4) with 16 rebounds and 10 points.
The Redskins were paced by Megan Foye and Klarizza Cruz, each with identical performances of five field goals and three free throws for 13 points.
Gardiner 51, Edward Little 37
AUBURN – Junior forward Brittney Salley scored 16 points to lead Gardiner to a 51-37 win over Edward Little in KVAC girls’ basketball action Wednesday.
The Tigers (4-0) jumped out to a 24-12 lead after the first half, and kicked up some dust in the third quarter with a 20-10 effort before slowing down. Salley scored 14 of her 16 points in the first half.
Junior guard Brittney French recorded 14 points for the Red Eddies (0-4), while senior guard Kate Dargie contributed 13 points.
Telstar 34, Mt. Abram 30
SALEM – Senior guard Jillian Kimball scored a team-high nine points to pace Telstar to a 34-30 win over Mt. Abram in MVC girls’ basketball action Wednesday.
Defensive play defined the Rebels’ first half performance as they took an 18-9 lead into intermission.
The Roadrunners gained some steam in the third quarter with a 10-4 run, but never got over the top. Center Brittany York led Mt. Abram with nine points in the losing effort.
Hockey
Leavitt 6, Yarmouth 3
AUBURN – Cory Maillett recored a hat trick Wednesday to lead Leavitt to a 6-3 victory over Yarmouth.
Evan Longchamp chipped in for the Hornets (4-0) with two goals and an assist, while Gabe Cloutier also tallied. Richard Thibault made 20 saves in net to notch the win.
Russ Simms led Yarmouth (0-4) with two goals, while Geoff Bell also scored. Kevin Santillo handled netkeeping duties, turning aside 28 shots .
