BRUNSWICK – Violet “Vi” A. Bernier, 68, of Maine Street, died Wednesday, Dec. 21, at MidCoast Hospital.

She was born in Walpole, Mass., on May 4, 1937, the daughter of Arsene and Frances Watkins Marchand. She attended Wrentham schools and was a 1955 graduate of Wrentham High School.

In 1958, she married Victor J. Bernier Sr. He died May 6, 1995.

In 1967, they moved to Brunswick. For 15 years, she worked as a housekeeper at the former Regional Memorial Hospital until retiring due to ill health.

She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella Father Remy Circle and was active in the bowling league. She also enjoyed crocheting, swimming and spending quality time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are a son, Victor J. Bernier Jr. of Brunswick; a daughter, Vicki Ross and her husband, Jeffrey, of Auburn; a brother, Frank Marchand of Taunton, Mass; and three grandchildren.
