NORWAY – Patricia M. Blaquiere, 71, of Oxford, died Saturday, Dec. 24, at the Norway Rehabilitation and Living Center.

She was born in West Bethel on Dec. 26, 1933, the daughter of Wilbur and Ruby Luxton Davis. She was a graduate of Gould Academy.

She married James “Blackie” Blaquiere on March 15, 1954. Patricia was a devoted wife and mother, who worked for the Bethel Phone Co. in her early years, when there were crank phones in Bethel. She enjoyed knitting, gardening and baking. She was the official baker for the Oxford Fire Department. She was also a CB radio enthusiast; her CB handle was “Old Maid.”

She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, James “Blackie” Blaquiere of Oxford; six daughters, Debra J. Blaquiere of Augusta, Sally J. May of Oxford, Brenda J. Sawyer of Oxford, Linda J. Cary of Bryant Pond, Sandra J. Johnson of Waterford and Christine J. Gammon of West Paris; five sons, Thomas A. Blaquiere of Norway, George A. Blaquiere of Mechanic Falls, Charles A. Blaquiere of Norway, Timothy E. Blaquiere of Mechanic Falls and Mark A. Blaquiere of Oxford; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Davis of Bethel and Lonnie Davis of Bethel; three sisters; Arlene Lowell of Bethel, Elizabeth Gilbert of Bethel and Nancy Brown of Gorham; and several nieces and nephews.
