HOLIDAY, Fla. – Frances “Etta” Maybury of Holiday, Fla., and Lewiston, Maine, died Saturday, Dec. 24, 2005, at her home in Florida.
She was born in Lewiston, the daughter of A. Bernard and Catherine (Herrington) Cosgrove. She was educated in Lewiston schools, graduating from Lewiston High School in 1951. She was active in the high school band as a majorette.
She worked at various business offices throughout Lewiston and Auburn.
She married Robert Maybury on Aug. 23, 1958, at St. Patrick’s Church, where she was an active member. She sang in the choir, was a member of the church fair committee, made many hand painted crafts for the fair, and volunteered many hours at St. Vincent thrift shop.
Etta was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed making meals for her family, spoiling her grandchildren and weekly card games with her friends. She had a terrific sense of humor and made everyone around her feel special. She will be sadly missed by all.
She is survived by her husband, Robert, of Holiday, Fla.; two sons, Dan of Auburn, and Bernie of Greene; her daughter, Katie and husband George Paiton,, of Minot, and her daughter-in-law, Anne, of South Portland; her grandchildren, Troy, Myla, Daryian, Drew and Makayla Maybury, and Aaron and Kaitlyn Paiton; one brother, Jim Cosgrove of Sabattus; two sisters, Theresa Cameron of South Carolina, and Mary Bouchard of Lewiston.
She was predeceased by her parents; her son, Tony; and her brothers, Bud and Mike Cosgrove.
