AUBURN – Martin R. “Marty” Wagg, of Hotel Road, Auburn, passed away Monday, Dec. 26, 2005, after a long courageous battle with cancer at the Hospice House, Stetson Road, Auburn.
Marty was a devoted husband, father, brother and grandfather.
He was born in Lewiston, the son of John and Margaret (Keene) Wagg. Marty lived most of his life in Auburn.
He served in the U.S. Navy in the early 70s, where he became partially disabled.
He loved hunting, fishing, farming and all outdoor activities.
Marty worked many years for the state of Maine, beginning at Pineland Center and later with the Department of Corrections at Windham, where he taught farming and meat cutting to inmates.
He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Valerie J. (Libby) Wagg, of Auburn; sons, John M. Wagg and companion, Colleen Smith, of New Hampshire, Jason J. Wagg and companion, Kristen Benz, of New Hampshire, Jacob C. Wagg and wife, Sheri, of Montana, and Jason A. Johnson and wife, Tammy, of Auburn; daughter, Angela Brown and husband, Thomas, of Poland; loving mother, Margaret Wagg, of Lisbon Falls; loving in-laws, Robert and Joan Libby, of Auburn; grandchildren, Johnathan, Jason, Devin, Michael, Gregory, step grandchildren Kenneth and Krystal’; brother, Steve Wagg and his wife, Elaine, of Charleston; sisters, Pam Brooks and husband, Dave, of Auburn, Marilyn Aston and husband, Mark, of Litchfield, and Lisa Wagg of Auburn; and several nieces and nephews, who all loved him very much.
Marty was predeceased by his father, John Wagg, in 2000.
All who knew him will sadly miss him.
