LIVERMORE – Tilson R. York Jr., 83, a resident of Route 108, Livermore, died early Sunday morning, Dec. 25, at his home surrounded by his family, following a long battle with leukemia.

He was born May 18, 1922, in Canton, the son of Tilson Roy York Sr. and Katherine (Hollis) York. He was a graduate of Canton High School.

On Dec. 29, 1962, he married Shirley (Jordan) Bryant in Dixfield.

He worked in the loading department at Boise Cascade Paper Mill in Rumford for 28 years, retiring in 1983.

He enjoyed hockey, baseball, new cars, dancing, and going out to dinner with Jane and Bill Austin.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley, of Livermore; two stepsons, Arnold Bryant and his wife, Nancy, of Livermore, and James Bryant of Hartford; two stepdaughters, Darlene Morris and her husband, Stan, of Rangeley, and Carolyn Kennedy and her husband, Irville, of Leeds; eight step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; nieces, Betty York and Nancy Corriveau, both of Canton; a nephew, Herschel York of Peru; and a cousin, Jane Austin of West Peru.

He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Hollis York; a sister, Rachel DeCoster; and a nephew, George “Buddy” DeCoster Jr.

He wanted to thank all of the family for being so nice to him through the last of his living, a special thanks to Mary Hayford and Laura Allen for all they did to help with his care. Also, a heartfelt thank you to Androscoggin Home Health and Hospice, and R.N. Marie Hupper, for all their dedicated work.
