LEWISTON – Eileen Christ Pomerleau, 59, of 8 Elaine Ave.,, passed away on Saturday morning, Dec. 24, at the Marshwood Center for Healthcare and Rehabilitation.

She was born in Peabody, Mass., on May 12, 1946, daughter of James and Mary Savas Christ. She graduated from Lynn High School and then went on to beauty school.

Eileen married Rene Pomerleau on July 28, 1967. They were married for 38 years before Rene passed away in July 2005.

She worked at Geiger Brothers as a receptionist. Eileen’s love for children also led her to work in the Lewiston school system, as well as at St. Joseph’s. Eileen enjoyed being a wife and mother most of all. She took delight in cooking and caring for her boys. She was a remarkable chef. She also loved summers in Maine, spending hours in her pool with her family and friends. Bowling, reading and movies were other favorite pastimes.

She is survived by her mother, Mary, and one brother, Chris, both of Florida; son, Keith Pomerleau and wife, Sherri, of Lewiston; son, Chris Pomerleau and wife, Sarah, of Lewiston; stepson, Mark and wife, Tammy, of Portland; stepson, Tim and wife, Debbie, of Lewiston; and stepson, Jim, of Turner.

She was the proud grandmother of 13 grandchildren, whom she loved dearly, as well as one great-grandson.
