NEW SHARON – Fire destroyed a mobile home Tuesday morning after owners Scott and Tiffany Stevens had left the residence. The couple lost all of their belongings in the home on Swan Road.

New Sharon Fire Rescue Lt. Eric Webster said Tuesday when he rolled on the scene that it was “pretty well” burned flat.

About 15 firefighters from New Sharon and Farmington responded to the structure fire, which was reported at 8:10 a.m., Webster said.

Swan Road is located off Route 27, nearly across from The Turkey Farm.

Tiffany Stevens had left for work at Wal-Mart at about 5:30 a.m. and Scott Stevens and family dog, Daisy, had gone to visit relatives about 6 a.m., fire officials and Scott Stevens’ grandmother Elaine Stevens of Temple said Tuesday.

Elaine Stevens said the couple will stay with family.

It is unclear how the fire started and where it started in the home due to the destruction,Webster said.

The mobile home was insured.

The couple declined help from the American Red Cross, he said.
