LITCHFIELD – Joseph Michaud, 72, of 854 Richmond Road, died Monday morning, Dec. 26, at his residence, after a brave battle with cancer, surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born in Squatec, Canada, the son of Edouard and Marie Anna Michaud. The family moved to the United States in 1942.
Joe was an avid woodsman and worked a dozen years at Snow’s Tire in Auburn and then went to work at Bath Iron Works, where he stayed until his retirement in 1999. He was so very proud of the home he built in Litchfield, the home he spent his last earthly days in. He took great pride in the chickens he raised and his pet dog, Chico.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 19 years, the former Beverly Hall, whom he married on Oct. 18, 1986.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his two daughters from a previous marriage, Louise Michaud of New York and Lisa Jackson and her husband, Gregory, of Poland, who will greatly miss their dad; Lisa’s two children, Carrie and Adam, who will dearly miss their pepere; and four brothers and their spouses, Andrew and Diane Michaud of Greene, Sam and Maryanne Michaud of Lewiston, Henry and Ruth Michaud of Houlton and Maurice Michaud of Bath.
He was predeceased by his parents; and two brothers, Roger and Paul Michaud.
His kind heart and soul will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
