NEWRY – The Black Diamond Family Entertainment Series will conjure up two performances during Children’s Week at Sunday River Ski Resort.
Master magician George Saterial will appear Tuesday, Jan. 10, and Laughing Pizza, a family musical group, will be on stage Thursday, Jan. 12.
Saterial has become the first and only magician in the world to receive magic’s highest and most coveted honors, the Gold Medal of Excellence, from the industry’s foremost associations.
His award-winning routine is titled “Timeless Magic,” as time literally seems to stand still when this classically inspired piece is set in motion. Set at the spellbinding hour of midnight like clockwork, candles, handkerchiefs, and even doves magically appear and disappear.
Laughing Pizza serves up a flavorful blend of original tunes with pop, country and Motown-style. The key ingredients are Billy Schlosser, his wife, Lisa Michaelis, and their 9-year-old daughter, Emily.
Both shows begin at 7 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom of the Grand Summit Resort Hotel at Sunday River Ski Resort. Tickets are $4 for children (6-12) and $6 for adults in advance; $6 and $8 at the door. Tickets may be purchased on-mountain at the South Ridge Welcome Center, the Snow Cap Inn and the Grand Summit Hotel front desk or at Books & Things in Bethel.
