This letter is a thank-you to our federal government for the 4.2 percent increase in Social Security. With that gift came a $10 increase in Medicare and a payment for Part D for the prescription drug benefit. So now I get $7 less per month than I got before the raise.

Some people should be very proud of that plan.

Then there is the increase in gas and oil, and an increase in the cost of electricity to begin March 1.

Some people who were getting medicine from their doctors’ offices will no longer be able to receive that, due to the wonderful Part D of Medicare.

It’s nice to know how our government is looking out for us.

I would like to ask all the people who do all these wonderful things for us, when will it stop?

Maybe after the next election year.
