Education Commissioner Susan Gendron needs to get a grip on reality (Dec. 28). The problem with this state, and this country, is that government agencies don’t live within their means.
When I was young, I learned the difference between a need and a want.
In a perfect world, all children would have a computer, but this isn’t a perfect world.
In a perfect world, my streets wouldn’t be filled with potholes and my taxes wouldn’t be so high.
My children never had a computer, and they are both successful today.
Was it a threat that teachers would revolt if the laptop program was ended?
How about a taxpayer revolt?
