LEWISTON – Former Jesus Party kid Lisa Kimball has returned to the inner city ministry as an adult staff member.

Kimball started attending the Pentecostal Kids’ Church when she was 11 and in the sixth grade. She stayed until she graduated from Lewiston High School in 2004.

While attending high school, Kimball remained active in school and community, serving on the Lewiston Youth Advisory Council and, in her second year, becoming treasurer. She was in the Big Brother Big Sister program, took part in an interfaith anti-discrimination and anti-bullying campaign, served three years in the Junior ROTC program and in her last year was promoted to squadron commander.

She was a 2002 People to People Student Ambassador, visiting England, France, Italy and Greece, and in 10th grade, Kimball was in the Young Writers Program.

In the fall of 2004, Kimball enrolled as a student at the Deliverance Bible Institute of Portland, with tuition paid by the Jesus Party. She is in her second year there.

Kimball said she has felt the need to return to the ministry and give back for the years that were invested in her.

The Jesus Party announces an addition to the weekly outreach program for teens 12 years and up. “Taken,” a youth group that will run concurrently with the 6 p.m. Friday services at 291 Bates St., will be organized and led by Kimball, through the council of Douglas Taylor, ministry director.
