LEWISTON – Doris V. Carlin, 73, of Highland Ave., Mechanic Falls, died Sunday evening, Jan. 1, at Central Maine Medical Center.

She was born in Yarmouth, Jan. 18, 1932, the daughter of Seth and Agnes Carlson Groves. She attended school in Yarmouth and Cosmetology School in Portland.

She worked as a hairdresser at Grant-Knowles in Portland until her marriage in November 1957 to Kenneth C. Carlin. After her marriage she was a homemaker, busy raising her family. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Family meant everything to her.

She is survived by her husband of Mechanic Falls; daughter, Virginia Lincoln and her husband, Thomas, of Hampden and their children, Chelsea and Emily; daughter, Corinne Moore and her husband, W. Eric, of Mechanic Falls and their children, Nicole and Daniel Vachon and their daughter, Halie; Scott Jenkins and his companion, Jessica Charity and their daughter, Emma; and grandson, Jacob Moore; daughter, Cheryl Royal and her husband, Jeff, of Gray and their children, Seth Farrington and Brooke Royal; a brother, Franklin Groves and his wife, Caroline, of Yarmouth; one sister, Marjorie Groves of Yarmouth; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Groves of Yarmouth.
